The Joy Campaign

Establishing Emmaus Church as a strategic outpost for the Kingdom in Kansas City.

For over a decade, the Lord has been profoundly faithful to Emmaus Church. Countless lives have been impacted by the gospel being declared and displayed through our community. As we look back on all God has done, we have so many reasons to rejoice—and we believe there is even more joy to come. God’s future grace awaits, and we are eager to step into the next season of ministry and mission.

You have a part to play in the Joy Campaign.

Why We Need a Permanent Space

For most of its existence, Emmaus Church has been meeting in a theater, and we’re deeply grateful for this space. But as we’ve grown, the limitations have become clear. We must coordinate with alternative venues for nearly everything outside of Sunday worship—fellowship events, outreach initiatives, ministry meetings, Community Groups, equipping classes, and more.

Access to a permanent facility would:

  • Significantly expand our capacity for ministry and mission
  • Establish Emmaus as a lasting presence for God’s kingdom in Kansas City
  • Help us transition from a church plant into a maturing congregation
  • Enable us to pursue kingdom advancement in fresh ways

Every member has a part to play. Whether through prayer, generosity, or spreading the word, God is inviting you to join in what He’s doing at Emmaus.

Our Goal: $500,000 (with a $250K matching gift!)

A generous donor has committed $250,000 to match what we raise as a church. This means we need to raise $250,000 together, and every dollar you give will be doubled.

When we reach our goal of $250,000, we’ll have $500,000 toward acquiring a permanent space. This covers down payment, reserves, and initial transition costs.

We’re exploring existing church buildings, commercial spaces for renovation, or land that could be developed. The goal is to prioritize long-term stewardship and kingdom advancement.

Two Ways to Participate in the Joy Campaign

1

Pray with Us

This campaign depends chiefly on prayer. Join us in asking God to continue his faithfulness to Emmaus by advancing his kingdom through us.

2

Give Generously

Scripture tells us that “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7). Out of the joyful overflow of his own life and being, our God is supremely generous. He loves it when his people reflect the generous love he’s shown in Christ.

We’re asking families and individuals to commit to a specific amount they can give over the course of 2026, above and beyond their regular giving to the church.

Prayerfully consider what God is leading you to give, whether that’s a one-time gift or monthly contributions throughout the year. You can give at emmauskc.com/give. Be sure to designate your contribution as “Joy Campaign.”

Will You Join Us?

"The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing." — Zephaniah 3:17

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
